The Reality of Terrorist Trials

During his testimony before the Senate the Attorney General of the United States said that he is sure there will be a conviction of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and others.  Khalid Sheikh Mohammed has already admitted his part in the planning of the 911 attacks, before a military judges. Attorney General Holder has stated he is sure there will be a conviction even in civilian courts.  If true what is the reason for moving the trial from military to civilian courts? The answer is clear... there is no ligament reason, only reasonings based on money and politics.

Money

If we look at other recent government trials such as the Bernie Madoff trial it is clear to see that defense attorneys are going to become rich quickly while defending these enemy combatants.  The government provided council for Mr. Madoff have made upwards of $4 million a day in his defense.  Who knows what the defense team for KSM will make.  Void of any other real reason we need to pay very close attention to who the defense attorneys are and make note of their connection to both the Obama administration and the Democrat Party.  The reality is that this will be the perfect opportunity to "pay-off" friends and cronies especially if these attorneys spend more time putting the Bush administration on trial instead of the terrorists.

Political

As if the Democrats have not already politicized everything else in life they will likely use their political cronies under the guise of defense attorneys to politicize our judaical system.  Not having the guts to actually bring their lies about the Bush administration to open court where Bush and Chaney can defend themselves they will likely use these terror trials to air and give false validaty to those lies.  Let's count how many times the prosecution actually objects when they start talking about interrogation techniques and national security.

Having worked on the inside of Democrat campaigns I know the disdain the Democrats have for the average American.  I know how stupid they think we are.  I have seen first-hand the elitist mentality.  But the claims by Obama that he has had nothing to do with the decision to try these terrorists in civilian courts is the pinnacle of playing us all as fools.  The reality is, as Commander and Chief he is not required to release these military prisoners to civilian custody.  It is his prerogative not the Attorney General. In fact if he cared at all about separation of powers or the Constitution he would refuse on this point alone.

I am beginning to believe that President Obama is not at all well educated especially in law.  Universally Constitutional Lawyers are taught that when it comes to the Law precedent is everything.  If a lawyer comes before the Supreme Court armed only with ideology and no precedent his argument will die before it can ever be delivered.  Legally... precedent dictates that these prisoners should be tried in military courts.  In fact there is no precedent to the contrary. If the President doesn't know that than he is indeed far less intelligent than Joe Biden thought he was (reference to early in the campaign when Mr. Biden said that Obama was "clean and intelligent").
